  1. Sarah, first I want to thank you for organizing this Bible study and to tell you how much I enjoyed reading the book. Hope and Gabriel were beautiful children and it is such a blessing to read about the parents' faith in caring for these children. If anyone looks at youtube I highly recommend looking at 99 balloons, a story of a couple's faith in giving life to their child with Trisomy 18 and caring for him through his short life.

Sarah, thank you for being so open last night in sharing about the difficult end of life decisions that had to be made with your father. I admire your courage and your example as I have watched you work through your grief this past year. Medical technology is a blessing and a curse as so often it allows life to be prolonged and we have the luxery to linger over our decisions but the curse is feeling responsible for the outcome. As you stated the Lord is the author and finisher of our lives. Only the Lord holds the power of life and death. I will continue to pray for your peace and comfort as you sort through the emotions that come from going through the prolonged illness and death of your father.

I think satan experiences the most success in our lives when he can keep us in isolation and interfere in our fellowship with other believers. He has power over us anytime we can be convinced that we are walking alone and that no one cares or understands what we are going through. Our strength comes in our unity, in our corporate prayer and worship. In sharing eachother's burdens and carrying eachother's sorrows.

Corrie Ten Boon was able to endure because in the darkest moments she maintained fellowship with God and sought to minister to those around her. She leaned on the great faith of her father. What wisdom to know that every great parent protects their child by giving out what is needed at the appropriate time. If things are given too soon they would be lost or their significance would not be realized.

I hope you will plan another Bible study for the fall. It was wonderful to see so many of us come together last night and to see a hunger for the word and for fellowship. It was powerful to hear truths from women I have seen over the years but have never had an opportunity to hear from. I was blessed by thier faith.

Sarah, stay the course. You are a blessing and I am very grateful for all that you are doing.
